I saw this shared by a Trump supporter the day after the election:
Sweet, huh? At first, maybe. However, there is quite a lot of subtext screaming through the written sentiments—so I thought I’d fill that in.
Today is... Another day.
It's another day to get up and get dressed. Unless you dress in a way I disapprove of.
It's another day to tend to your home. Unless your home is/was in the West Bank or Gaza.
It's another day to read to your children. But don’t you dare let a drag queen do that.
It's another day to work hard with excellence. Unless we deported you for working hard without papers.
It's another day to open your door and host dinner. But not if you want to host refugees.
It's another day to help out a stranger in need. But if that help is reproductive care, you should go to jail for life.
It's another day to find ways to make the world a better place. [Waves ‘Mass Deportation’ sign]
It's another day to love your neighbors regardless of how they voted. Even though I just spent four years calling them evil demons, and deploying nazi rhetoric.
No matter how you are feeling today..... It's another day. For me, at least. I’m so privileged that this changes literally nothing in my life.
Full of opportunities. Unless you are a woman that wants the opportunity to survive a difficult miscarriage or get divorced from an abusive partner.
To be a better version of yourself. But not one who ever considers the cognitive disonance of your Christian faith and your destructive politics.
Than you were yesterday.
God bless you all, my friends. But if you don’t believe in God, I should get to decide what your children are taught in school.
Have a peaceful day. Oh, sweet! Trump just nominated Mike Huckabee as Ambassador to Israel. Now nothing will stand in the way of Netanyahu slaughtering ever Palestinan child left.
I have more election thoughts to share, and will when I can finesse them and say what is on my heart with care.
As a person who voted for Trump...do you think you might be generalizing a bit?
It's pretty blatant, too.
